Let's talk about Level Two Tap!
Updated: Sep 6, 2018
Level Two dancers mastered many simple ideas in Level One. They can find the "1" and move in quarter-note time doing steps, shuffles, heel digs and drops, toe digs and drops, and simple toe tips. A strong foundation in these basic movements will enable students to progress rhythmically and work in both straight and swinging eighth-note time. In Level Two they will learn ball changes, slaps, double heel drops, press and regular cramp rolls, stamps, stomps and shuffles. Fun improvisation activities and tap history lessons result in a lot of enthusiasm for tap dancing and students demonstrate an increased understanding of the 3 R's: Release, Relax and Ready.
